 Blanchard
Area Seniors, Inc. has worked closely with the Idaho Department
of Commerce, Panhandle Area Council, Bonner County
Commissioners, various grantors, area businesses,
organizations and individual donors to ensure the success of
the Blanchard Community Center.
We are especially proud of our dedicated
volunteers, who have done most of the work in completing and
running the Center. Thanks to their efforts and
partnerships with those who believe in our project, the
community is now enjoying regular meetings and activities in
a beautiful new facility.
The Center has provided a common area of
sharing, which has allowed BASIC to serve our entire town
with greater pride, comfort, efficiency and independence.
Our goals
through 2011 include completing the kitchen
and upstairs office, as well as improving the community
center grounds and adjacent park. We also are steadfast
in working toward improved services and new program
development. We recently initiated new programs in arts and
culture and in senior health care insurance advisement.
BASIC has been blessed by
numerous individual and business donations of money, time,
and materials; we have also received numerous grant awards
that have enabled the construction and programs at the
Center. We thank our generous donors and grantors for
believing in us, and for supporting our continued work for
the betterment of Blanchard. Our community is truly "The
Little Town That Thought It Could and is Proving it can".
